Before and after. Needed to replace farmhouse sink because the bottom was rusting out—no longer repairable. I should follow up with some built in shelves and a drawer or so.

Working on a better parts organization for the garage workshop:
I bought some bulk drawer sliders so I can pick through the bins with one hand and don’t need to pull the bin and place it on a surface to open it. More to come.

Trying out logging what I’ve read and taken in a particular day:
- Biden’s ERA declaration: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/amaricas-constitution/id1549624070?i=1000684947262
- Boy was this a good one: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/poetry-unbound/id1492928827?i=1000684659400

Ideally I’ll have something to say about these things. Also find a way to intergrate with “read and recommended”
Update: All this belongs in “Read and Recommend” section.

Soooooo in the theme of logging it incorrectly I forgot to stop the ride and logged my whole drive home. If I upgrade to premium with RideGPS I can edit that out but for now this is a ~12 mile ride with a bit of driving tacked on the end.

I started using Strava this summer when I started riding bikes with friends, it is currently the only social media app I have on my phone. While I don’t think it’s particularly good at avoiding the common pitfalls of social media, my current experience with it has been more positive than expected. I’m only connected to a small group of acquaintances—people I personally know and genuinely respect and admire—which has allowed me to experience a side of social media that I think has always been promised to us but which has never been delivered.
Seeing others share their outdoor adventures has motivated me to get out and explore more, and I’ve found myself feeling encouraged rather than weighed down by comparison. I am very aware that knowing others will see my stats doesn’t change how I ride some of the time but that is a double edged sword and I think it can be managed. Pressure to better is good and freedom to enjoy at my own pace without feeling pressure is also good… I don’t think we can find a killer app to do away with needing to managing life’s dualities.
Tonight I tried to lean into the social media experience of the ride—taking photos with the intention of inspiring others to get outside. I’ve posted it here though… so no one will ever see it.
Map of ride starts midway because I forgot to start RideGPS.
